Che was the instigator of the inaugural ‘Walk This Way’ initiative, which took place on Sunday September 23rd, 2012. He enlisted the wisdom and support of leaders in the community from the Fresh Arts organization as well as individuals like Paul Green & artist Motion.

300+ arts enthusiasts from across the GTA came together and walked down Yonge Street from Bloor to Dundas – ending up in a large art circle at Dundas Square. People utilized their artistic expression and walked in solidarity to:

• Celebrate the value of Youth, Arts & Cultural Programs in building healthy, empowered and resilient
individuals & communities.
• Appreciate the energy and innovation of youth arts programs and the crucial role that they play in
connecting our city.
• Recognize the 20th anniversary of Fresh Arts and other foundation community programs and the
value of young people in all parts of Toronto being able to tell their stories.
• Develop, discuss and review ways to stabilize investment in young people.

This walk supported the BeautifulCity work that was happening at city hall to increase support for the arts, specifically related to under-served young people.
