In 2007, Che and his partner Ryan Paterson alongside other artists/organizers called a meeting at Toronto’s City Hall with artists, organizers and industry professionals to spur a conversation about how we could amplify our voices and work in unison.  This led to the founding of Manifesto Community Projects of which Che served as the Executive Director for 7 years and now resides as the organization’s Chair of the Board of Directors.  Manifesto is a non-profit organization working to unite, inspire and empower diverse communities of young people through arts & culture. It aims to provide a platform and the resources needed to advance the growth of the arts as a tool for positive change on the individual, community and city level. Through art exhibitions, dance competitions, workshops, free outdoor concerts, film screenings, networking opportunities, seminars, festivals, a pop-up arts market, independent media and much more.  Manifesto creates powerful and engaging experiences, and provides opportunities for artists to grow. Manifesto’s point of origin lies in hip hop culture – in its spirit of ingenuity, raw creativity, and people power, but we strive to stay out of boxes and create a platform with the potential to act as a catalyst for cross-pollination, collaboration, and the growth of new forms in this world of wildly talented people.  The Manifesto Festival is the marquee event of the organization and has grown to become the largest festival of its kind in the country.  In its peak year, attendance reached 54,000 people over an 11 day festival with 14 events.  Che also co-founded sister organizations Manifesto Jamaica in 2009 and Manifesto Barbados in 2011. And Manifesto is just getting started…
